Here at
Indian Summer Alpacas we feel the the health, welfare and happiness of the alpaca is
paramount. We work with you for the quality health care of your alpacas. We
touch them during each feeding and work with them often.
Alpacas love to please people. You just have to let them know what you'd like
from them. The only way to do that is to work with them and get to know their
individual personalities. All owners who board here
are encouraged to come and work personally with their alpacas.
To
ensure the health of the animals we use Tufts Ambulatory, a division of Tufts Veterinary
School of Medicine. To ensure the welfare of your alpaca, we use a voice monitoring system
in each barn. We can hear everything that goes on in our barns! We also have a
professionally installed fire monitoring system. To ensure the Happiness of the animals we
group alpacas by age, sex and assertiveness. We all know some animals are more
aggressive than others just like humans. We take that into consideration when
planning your alpacas location on our farm.
